Happening ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our mobile application and services.
We collect the following types of information: • Account information: name, email address, profile picture • Content you create: posts, events, comments, messages • Usage data: how you interact with the app • Device information: device type, operating system • Location data: only when you create events (city/venue level) • Payment information: M-Pesa transaction references (we do not store card details)
We use your information to: • Provide and improve our services • Connect you with other users and events • Send notifications about activity on your account • Process event ticket purchases • Ensure safety and prevent fraud • Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information: • With other users (profile, posts, events you create) • With service providers (Cloudinary for images, Railway for hosting) • When required by law • With your consent
Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Data is stored in servers located in the United States and European Union.
You have the right to: • Access your personal data • Correct inaccurate data • Delete your account and all associated data • Export your data • Opt out of marketing communications To exercise these rights, contact us at happening.app.ke@gmail.com or use the Delete Account feature in Settings.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time through Settings → Delete Account. This will remove all your posts, events, messages, and personal information from our systems within 30 days.
Happening does not process or handle payments directly. For ticketed events, Happening displays the organizer's M-Pesa payment details (phone number, till number, or paybill). All payments are made directly between attendees and event organizers. We do not store payment credentials, M-Pesa PINs, or transaction data. Happening is not a payment processor or financial service provider.
Happening is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or email.
